Solidary West Palatinate

Together through the Corona Crisis

Now the Corona crisis has hit us in the West Palatinate, too, with its full impact on economy and society. For many companies, especially those in the service, retail and hospitality sectors, existential questions now arise. Through mutual support we can master the crisis!

In recent days, the German government has launched a series of measures to support companies in Germany during the crisis. In addition, local solutions can also help us all to overcome the crisis together:

Emergency aid for micro-enterprises and solo self-employed Grants of up to 9,000 Euro (max. 5 employees) or up to 15,000 Euro (max. 10 employees) are offered over 3 months to cover running costs. To the key issues paper
State aid program for medium-sized companies As a supplement to the federal program, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate is now providing additional assistance through the Zukunftsfonds Starke Wirtschaft Rheinland-Pfalz. Self-employed persons and companies with up to five employees up to companies with 10 to 30 employees can apply for assistance.
Help for artists and creative people The German government provides an overview of support services - interesting also for other self-employed persons.
Help for sport clubs The Ministry of the Interior of Rhineland-Palatinate is currently analyzing the aid needs of sports clubs via a digital reporting system. For clubs with commercial business operations, there is already a priority opportunity to submit corresponding applications for funding from the Federal Program for small businesses.
Tax relief The German government allows the deferral of due taxes and reduction of advance payments. Here you get a good overview.
Short-time work compensation You can find information on the website of the Agentur für Arbeit. If you have any questions, please call 0631/3641888 or 0800/4555520. DATEV offers helpful literature on the topic for current events.
Reduction of advance payments to utility companies If the restaurant/business remains closed, large portions of the costs for electricity and heating are also eliminated. However, the discount will remain the same for the time being. Talk to your energy or water supplier. In most cases solutions will be found.
Reduction/deferral of rent and lease Hardly a landlord has interest in having to look for a new tenant shortly. So talk to your landlord if you have had to close your store, café or restaurant temporarily. A solution should be found.
Test mobile offers As a provider, the expansion of the online offer is an alternative option in times of business closures for normal customer traffic. In the catering sector, on-site collection and delivery services are an opportunity.
Support gastronomy Although the restaurants and cafes in the West Palatinate had to close, they are still allowed to provide their customers with food for pick-up or with the help of delivery services, thus saving at least part of their turnover. Some restaurateurs have already developed corresponding offers. Ask directly or have a look at one of the overview pages that are still under construction, so at KL.digital and the City of Pirmasens.
Use local information and service portals The Solidarity Portals www.kaiserslautern.plus and www.otterbach-otterberg.plus of our partner CityKit offer information from the respective municipalities on the subject of the Corona crisis, but also to trade and services: pick-up or delivery service, vouchers, Corona ticker, "Citizens help citizens".
Strengthening local service providers Other companies also need your help: these days, think of hoteliers, business operators and service providers. Maybe your next order will go to a provider from the Western Palatinate.
Neighborly helping In times of crisis, it is especially important to think about the well-being of fellow human beings. Numerous initiatives have already been launched to support those particularly affected by the crisis, for example, when shopping. If you too would like to help, take a look around your circle of friends and neighbors or ask your local community about local initiatives. You can also find helpful tips in Facebook groups.
